One pair of tiger and tigress will be shifted in Sariska and Mukundra. The Forest Department will prepare for the shifting next week, after the approval of NTCA. There are two tiger reserves in Rajasthan. There are 78 tigers and tigress in Ranthambore National Park whereas, in Sariska, there are 24 tigers that have become old so the reserve needs both tigers and tigress. As told by the Chief Wildlife Warden, there is a need to balance the tiger population in Ranthambore, and on the other hand, the Sariska and Mukundra need tigers and tigress therefore, the shifting will be carried the next week.

Officials from the state forest department said two tigers will be sent to the Mukundra and Sariska tiger reserves following further approvals from the central government. The Field Director of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve told PTI that the proposal of the State Forest Department to shift one tiger to the Sariska and the other to Mukundra has been approved by the technical committee of the NTCA.
